FEDERICO GRAZIANI HIS WINES, HIS HISTORY AND HIS TERRITORY.
"You can't really understand a wine unless you know its origins."
It was 1990 when, at just fifteen years old, Federico Graziani decided to enroll in the first sommelier course to follow his passion: a passion that would soon become his job, radically changing his life. A professional since the age of 19, at 23 he won the AIS competition as the best sommelier in Italy 1998, an achievement that offered him the opportunity to work at a high level alongside Gualtiero Marchesi, Stefano Cavallini, Bruno Loubet, Carlo Cracco, Aimo and Nadia Moroni.
My vineyards are located on the slopes of Etna, between 600 and 1200 meters above sea level on the north and north-west sides. A mysterious and special place, a unique ecosystem in the world characterized by extraordinary climatic variability and a landscape rich in contrasts and life.
It is precisely by living in symbiosis with the volcano and adapting to the strength and unpredictability of its elements that here, for over 2000 years, vines have been cultivated in small plots of land torn from the mountain. A slow and ancient work, done by hand with effort, passion and respect.
