Rosso di Mezzo is an ongoing project, it tells both the present and the future of the company.
This is the wine obtained from the best grapes coming from the century-old vineyards of Passopisciaro, in the four plots owned by the district of Feudo di Mezzo and represents the future because it will involve, in the next few years, also the young ungrafted vineyard that is found in the heart of the same famous district.
A wine where the pre-phylloxera vines meet those originating from the mass selection work carried out on the oldest vineyards, resulting in clean fruit and an intact plant, without any rootstock wounds.
VINIFICATION AND REFINING:
Spontaneous fermentation in open vats, without temperature control and with indigenous yeasts, aged in steel for 24 months, 6 months in bottle.
THE WINE:
Ruby red color, transparent and deep.
On the nose it is intense and fruity, redcurrant and wild blueberries, followed by a note of caper leaf and fresh aromatic herbs. On the palate it is lively, elegant and subtle, the sensations of aromatic herbs and a note of blood orange return; it closes with a mineral sensation of flint.
FOOD PAIRING:
It pairs well with grilled lamb chops, aubergine parmigiana and roasts.
of white meat.
