Pio Cesare was born in 1881 when Pio Cesare , Cesare by name and Pio by surname, a successful entrepreneur, was attracted by the idea of ​​producing for himself, his family, his friends and customers a small and select quantity of wines from the hills of Barolo and Barbaresco.

Year after year, Pio Cesare creates a real business by combining his passion for wine with constant attention to the quality and style of his wines.

The Pio Cesare brand increases its fame and notoriety on the national and international market and establishes itself convincingly and definitively, thanks above all to Barolo, as one of the great names in Italian wine, becoming one of the most authoritative and appreciated interpreters in Italy and in the world.

THE WINES:

For us, being traditional means being faithful, harvest after harvest, to the style that our wines have always had throughout the years of our history.

This includes:

Low yields in vineyards that respect the physiology of the different plants , preferring the quality of the grapes to the quantity.

In the vineyards we do not employ seasonal workers but the same people who work there during the entire vegetative cycle, from pruning to harvesting and who have a deep knowledge of the needs and health of each individual plant.

Our interventions for the phytosanitary defense of plants are minimal and we can certify that all our wines do not contain residues of them.

We believe it is always possible to produce a great wine even in the most difficult years. It is enough to obsessively select the grapes bunch by bunch, grape by grape.

We will always find quantities, even small ones, of very high quality grapes that allow us to produce high quality wines every year. All this even if it is at the expense of our… balance sheets!!
