With production starting with the 2009 vintage, as its name suggests, it was a wine expressly desired and created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Falesco, founded in 1979 by Renzo and Riccardo Cotarella.
THE WINE:
A red wine of great elegance and depth, which stands out for its typicality and sweetness, it represents the fruit of the experience, studies and knowledge gained over the decades in Falesco around the Merlot and Sangiovese varieties.
THE GRAPES AND THE VINEYARD:
Merlot is grown in the municipality of Montecchio, on clayey soil, well exposed from which ripe and rich grapes are obtained. Sangiovese is instead grown in the Orvieto area, on clayey and sandy hill soils from which well-balanced grapes are obtained in terms of polyphenolic content and acidity.
THE VINIFICATION:
The grapes reach maturity at different times, first the Merlot is harvested and after a 15% bloodletting it is sent to alcoholic fermentation. After about 15 days the Sangiovese is harvested and undergoes a 20% bloodletting and then ferments in stainless steel tanks. At the end of fermentation, the wines are combined and put into barriques where malolactic fermentation takes place and where they remain to age for 9 months
