Chianti Classico DOCG The Chianti Classico Tenuta Perano is born on the hills of Gaiole in Chianti, from vineyards positioned at 500 meters above sea level. The south-southwest exposure and especially the amphitheater shape of the vineyards, favor the insolation and concentrate the heat. The combination of altitude, exposure, configuration and slope of the vineyards, represent an extraordinary qualitative uniqueness, giving the wines a bright purple color, intense fruity aromas and great tannic structure, permeated by an elegant vibration. |
VINIFICATION AND REFINING:
Once harvested by hand, the grapes were vinified in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Maceration on the skins with controlled and careful pumping over allowed for perfect extraction of the polyphenolic substances, capable of providing the right colour intensity and typical structure. The wine was then aged partly in wood, delicately enriching the olfactory component with tertiary aromas. Only after a further period in the bottle was Tenuta Perano ready to make its entrance on the scene.
TASTING NOTES:
Tenuta Perano Chianti Classico 2021 presents itself with a splendid clear ruby red color. On the nose it begins with fruity notes of berries and other red fruits such as cherry and plum. The floral aspects are very evident and as always dominated by strong hints of violet and wild rose. Followed by the spicy imprint of Perano Chianti Classico with cloves and cardamom, the olfactory finish is fresh and balsamic. The entrance into the mouth is mineral and rightly tannic, with a silky tannic texture, freshness and minerality impose themselves in the gustatory finish. Beautiful taste-olfactory correspondence and long intense aromatic persistence.
CLIMATE TREND:
Winter 2022 was characterized by a harsh climate and rich in rainfall, with morning frosts. The spring thaw and the increase in temperatures allowed the vines to sprout regularly. Then, spring, with mild temperatures and some well-placed rains, allowed the leaf surface to develop well, with a very extensive and complete vegetative wall. The vines flowered from 5 to 7 June, with sunny days and temperatures that favored good fruit set. Subsequently, veraison, a few days early, occurred at the beginning of August thanks to optimal conditions of heat during the day, but mitigated by good ventilation at night. Much of the credit for the extraordinary vintage must in any case be attributed to the hot summer, with two rains in mid-August. The harvest, which began on 18 September with the Sangiovese, is to be considered extraordinary for the intensity of aromas and richness of tannins that the two summer rains made soft and velvety.
