THE “SECOND SKIN” PACKAGE

A packaging to preserve the integrity of the Ruinart taste until tasting. Innovative, eco-designed and authentic: the “second skin” packaging is the crowning achievement of Maison Ruinart’s commitment to sustainability.

Since 1729, the oldest Champagne House has sought to preserve its ancestral savoir-faire by carefully cultivating the land in which its wines are rooted. In light of growing environmental challenges, Maison Ruinart, which is about to enter its fourth century of life, is taking a further step in its commitment to safeguarding the land and transmitting savoir-faire, art and culture.

It is not just a necessity: sustainability is a source of innovation and a great creative force for Ruinart.

Today, the Champagne House is taking an unprecedented step by presenting an eco-friendly package, an alternative to gift packaging.

THE WINE:

Blend made up of 100% Chardonnay from different vintages (20 to 25% reserve wines from the two previous vintages). A strong predominance of Premier Cru from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims gives the aromatic finesse, complemented by wines from the Sézannais known for their roundness; finally, some wines from the north of the Vallée de la Vesle give a touch of freshness and lightness.

The color is a beautiful pale golden yellow with light green reflections. It is bright and luminous with a lively and persistent effervescence. On the first nose it reveals a great intensity, with notes of fresh fruit, in particular ripe citrus. On the second nose delicate notes of flowers and white fruits (white peach) appear. On the palate it is soft, harmonious and very rounded. Its vinosity is not excessive, supported by an intense freshness. Notes of nectarine, citrus and a pleasant minerality emerge in the finish. The finish is very persistent and refreshing.

CULINARY PAIRING:

A perfect Champagne for an aperitif, especially in spring or summer.

At the table it goes very well with all seafood and shellfish, and is perfect with a
sea bass or sea bream tartare. Even a plancha sole is an excellent combination.
