A wine that enhances the pleasant fragrance of pure Sangiovese, a historic variety of Montalcino. The vineyards located on calcareous-clayey soils give life to a fresh, mineral and very drinkable Rosso di Montalcino.
VINIFICATION AND REFINING:
Upon arrival at the cellar, the grapes were destemmed, softly pressed and transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place at a temperature of 25 °C, which lasted approximately 8-10 days. At the end of malolactic fermentation, the wine began its refinement period, which lasted approximately 10 months.
HISTORICAL DATA:
Tenuta Pian delle Vigne, located 6 km. southwest of Montalcino, takes its name from the homonymous locality where there is a characteristic 19th century railway station. The company is composed of 184 hectares, of which 70 are vineyards exposed mainly to the southwest at about 130 meters above sea level.

Tasting notes
Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino DOC has a ruby red color. On the nose it expresses notes of citrus and fresh red fruit such as cherries and strawberries alternating with pleasant sensations of lavender and tobacco.
On the palate it is fresh and fruity, with vibrant tannins that accompany a long and savoury finish; it closes with a floral aftertaste.
