IN A LAND OF REDS; AN EXTRAORDINARY WHITE!
This elegant Chardonnay with a small percentage of the native Fiano is born in the “Tenuta Bocca di Lupo” in the heart of Murgia and the origin of its name is inspired by this territory. “Pietrabianca” recalls, in fact, the rocks that farmers come across during the preparation of the land and that, once ground and integral parts of the soil, help to enhance the aromas of the wines that are born there.

HISTORICAL DATA:
Tenuta Bocca di Lupo is located at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level in the heart of the wild Murgia barese, near Minervino Murge – Bari. The main varieties grown are: Chardonnay, Fiano, Aglianico, Nero di Troia, Cabernet Sauvignon and Moscato di Trani. Pietrabianca is an elegant Chardonnay with a small percentage of the native Fiano, born at Tenuta Bocca di Lupo in the heart of Murgia, and the origin of its name is inspired by this territory. "Pietrabianca" in fact recalls the rocks that farmers come across during the preparation of the land and which, once ground and integral parts of the soil, help to enhance the aromas of the wines that are born there.
VINIFICATION AND REFINING:
The grape harvest took place in the very early hours of the morning, in order to capture the fresh aromas and avoid oxidation during the hottest hours. The grapes arriving at the cellar were destemmed and softly pressed; the
The must obtained was transferred to stainless steel tanks at a temperature of about 10°C to promote natural clarification. Subsequently, part of the Chardonnay was transferred to French oak barrels, where alcoholic fermentation took place, followed by malolactic fermentation and refinement on its own yeasts. The Fiano, as well as the remaining part of the Chardonnay, was vinified in steel at a temperature of 16-18 °C to enhance its characteristic freshness. In January, the Chardonnay in the barriques was transferred to steel, assembled with the Fiano and the other part of the Chardonnay, and bottled a few months later. Further refinement in the bottle followed before being marketed.
TASTING NOTES:
Pietrabianca 2020 has a bright yellow color. The nose expresses fresh notes of orange blossom and exotic fruit. The toasted hints of hazelnut and citrus enrich its complexity. On the palate it is characterized by a good freshness capable of reviving the buttery and mineral sensations perceived on the nose. A white capable of expressing itself today as in the years to come.
