MOTHERCHURCH
Symbolic wine of Casa Terenzi's winemaking history, this selection from the single Madrechiesa vineyard is the proudest and most emblematic expression of Sangiovese. Aged 12 months in large barrels and 6 months in the bottle, it has a balsamic opening that leaves room for clear aromas of red and black fruits, violets and spices. The tannins are generous and tasty, without flaws, the sip is reactive and full of juice.
“We feel more like custodians than owners of these vineyards and our task is only to take the best care of their fruits.
Once this task has been completed, the path is simple and is the one we have always followed in the production of our wines: work the raw material as little as possible, carefully accompanying first the must and then the wine on their journey, patiently waiting each year for the journey to come to an end and thus a new vintage of Madrechiesa is born” .
"Terenzi is one of the most promising new names in Tuscan winemaking"
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
THE WINE:
M adrechiesa offers a unique interpretation of Sangiovese, combining sobriety, authenticity, elegance, complexity and character. It is the wine that perfectly embodies the values of the winery led by the Terenzi brothers. A dynamic reality, which has quickly burned many stages, soon gaining consensus in Italy and abroad, keeping intact the desire to experiment, to bring each label to its maximum qualitative and territorial expression. Clear ruby red, tending to garnet, the nose emanates ripe fruity aromas of cherry jam and raspberries, then tobacco, humus and eucalyptus, cloves and hints of cocoa and violet. Warm, decisive, savoury sip, shows a present but perfectly integrated tannin and a fresh balsamic breath that re-emerges in the finish, dominating the entire long mentholated persistence.
