FORMAT: 0.75L
GRAPE VARIETY: PINOT NOIR, BARBERA AND NEBBIOLO
VINTAGE: 2021
PLACE: PIEDMONT -ITALY
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 15%VOL

Dedicated to the two Ricu (“Enrico”) of the family (uncle and brother of Marziano), this wine testifies to the happy marriage between two classic vines of the area, Nebbiolo and Barbera, with Pinot Noir. An important and rare wine because it is produced in a few thousand examples.

THE WINE:

Obtained from an unusual blend of Nebbiolo, Barbera -in a higher percentage- and a small portion of Pinot Noir, Due Ricu has a very intense and deep color that can be traced back to the Barbera grape. On the nose, notes of ripe red fruit prevail and a light spicy hint given by the maturation in wood. But it is on the palate that this wine offers its best with a wide spectrum of flavors that begin with the fruity charge of Barbera and the elegance of Pinot Noir, to close with the more structured and tannic part of Nebbiolo. A wine that pairs excellently with red meats and cheeses, to be drunk both when young and in evolution after 4-5 years.

REFINEMENT AND VINIFICATION:

Destemming-crushing followed by spontaneous alcoholic fermentation using indigenous yeasts, in contact with the skins in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Dry racking and decanting into 500-litre oak barrels. Each grape variety is vinified separately. Malolactic fermentation: Completely carried out in barrels immediately after alcoholic fermentation. Aging: In barrels for a long period, separately for each grape variety. Followed by assembly in steel and bottling. Then rest in bottle at a constant temperature of 14° C for a few months before being released for sale.
