TECHNICAL FEATURES:
The pure Lagrain grapes of the Rosato “Gemma” of Tenuta San Leonardo are grown in vineyards located between 200 and 400 meters above sea level on hilly reliefs near Roverè della Luna, Sorni and Pressano. Their sun exposure is optimal for good ripening of the grapes: they are, in fact, located to the south-east and south-west. The soil where they grow is mainly composed of marl and this guarantees good structure to the products. Once the harvest is finished, in the cellar the grapes are subjected to soft pressing and remain on the skins for 3 hours; a white fermentation follows for about 10 days. It is refined in steel for six months on the yeasts.
TASTING NOTES:
The Lagrein Rosato “Gemma” from Tenuta San Leonardo presents itself in the glass as an antique pink with brilliant reflections; on the nose it releases aromas of wild berries and aromatic mountain herbs. On the palate it reveals a good velvety structure with an important but pleasant final persistence that encourages drinking.
PAIRING:
It pairs perfectly with fish, shellfish and crustacean dishes, but also with grilled white meats.
