VINTAGE:
Acate, in the Tenuta di Vittoria, the 2021 vintage was less rainy than average. The lower rainfall recorded was compensated by irrigation that favored the regular vegetative-productive cycle. The quantity and quality of the grapes produced was in line with the company's objectives. The Frappato and Nero d'Avola grapes thus reached an ideal sugar, aromatic and phenolic maturation, a premise of particular fragrance and pleasantness.
HARVEST AND VINIFICATION:
The youngest vineyards were harvested in early September, while most of the Frappato and Nero d'Avola grapes were picked between 21 and 26 September. Fermentation took place in steel with maceration on the skins for about 10 days at a temperature of 25°- 28° C. Once malolactic fermentation had taken place, the wine was aged for about 7 months in a tank and then in the bottle for at least 6 months.
TASTING NOTES:
With an intense ruby color with bright purple reflections, Floramundi 2021 offers intense fruity aromas among which cherry and floral notes of violet stand out; the bouquet opens to delicate balsamic nuances of laurel and spicy notes of nutmeg. On the palate it is supported by freshness and softness that make it juicy and very pleasant to drink. The tannin is fine and well integrated. Floramundi 2021 expresses the harmonious balance that Cerasuolo di Vittoria can achieve. Longevity 4\5 years.
FOOD WINE PAIRING:
Perfect by the glass, it pairs well with tasty first courses and grilled meat; try it with meat-filled ravioli and pork fillet. Also perfect with red tuna steak, amberjack or baked fish. Serve in large glasses. Excellent at 15-16°C.
