THE VINTAGE:
The 2004 vintage will mark the history of Champagne Dom Pérignon for its richness and generosity.
If the climate was expected to be mild, allowing a regular and uneventful vegetative development of the vine, it is the dry heat of the last few weeks that determines the character of the vintage. The harvest begins on September 24th, the maturity and health conditions are excellent.
ON THE NOSE:
The fruit of 2004, however discreet, emerges more clearly with this second life. Pink grapefruit and blood orange give way to fig, on the finish. The aging of the wine on the lees sublimates the minerality of the vintage into a glorious maturity, emblematic of Dom Pérignon: cocoa, mocha, toasted notes, brioche and honey.
ON THE PALATE:
In a game of balance, the wine evolves between tension and lightness. An extreme precision, tactile, mysterious and chiseled. A character that persists, elegant, on a powerful note, of licorice.
