Coming from the oldest vineyards of Carmenère, this wine, with an innate capacity for evolution, expresses the essence of the territory. The Carmenère of Tenuta San Leonardo is one of the diamonds of what we can define as a diadem, when we refer to the range of wines of the winery that takes its name from the town near Trento. The Carmenère grapes come from some of the oldest vineyards of the Estate that sink their roots in soils with a predominantly sandy texture at an altitude of between 150 and 200 meters above sea level.
VINIFICATION AND REFINING:
Spontaneous fermentation in small concrete tanks for approximately 15/18 days with several daily pumping overs and délestage, aged for 24 months in first, second and third passage French oak barriques
THE WINE:
Carmenère Tenuta San Leonardo ruby red surrounded by violet reflections. Brought to the nose, all the spontaneity and strength of the vine comes out thanks to the vegetal scents that bring the mind to green pepper, nuances further embellished by notes of blackberries, wild strawberries and balsamic nuances with peppery hues. On the palate, the body and warmth transmitted by this wonderful wine captivate the taste buds making the sip unforgettable and slightly intriguing. With a persistent drink, the Carmenère of Tenuta San Leonardo is a wine that, if waited for, can truly give intense emotions due to its ability to express itself and evolve over time. A wine that, paired with vigorous dishes with a strong structure, shows off all that brilliance to which only the brightest stars in the firmament can aspire.
