the new chapter in the family history: Barbaresco is born

The Massolino family's adventure in the prestigious Barbaresco hills finally begins. 2019 marks the birth of two new labels, which tell the story of their commitment to measuring themselves against one of the most important wines of Langa.

THE WINE:

Appearance: intense garnet red.
On the nose: this wine offers us very complex, open and very pleasant aromas; flowers and hints of red fruit dominate but also hay, spices and tobacco give great depth and breadth!
On the palate: rich, elegant, sometimes austere, capable of combining great pleasantness and excellent aging potential. A few bottles of a truly special Barbaresco! It is advisable to decant it and drink it at a temperature of 18-20°C. It expresses itself best when paired with red meats, especially game and venison, and with truffle dishes. Also excellent with first courses of egg pasta with meat sauces and risottos as well as with medium-aged cow's and goat's cheeses. From the first moments of fermentation of this wine we understood that we were in front of a very high expression of Nebbiolo: beautiful vineyard, excellent exposure and altitude... everything necessary to give us perfect grapes!

VINIFICATION AND AGEING:

Traditional Barbaresco with long-term fermentation and maceration in oak vats at a temperature of around 30°C; aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for up to 18 months and subsequently refined in the bottle in special cool, dark rooms.
