Historical Data
The name Arveja in Piedmontese means “bramble bush”. At the top of the vineyard under the woods there are in fact some bushes whose blackberries ripen during the Arveja harvest. This small 2-hectare vineyard is characterized by a west/northwest exposure that allows to enhance the typical freshness of Erbaluce and the captivating aromas of gooseberry and green apple of Sauvignon Blanc.
THE VINTAGE:
The 2023 vintage was characterized by a generally warm and dry climate, which lasted until mid-May, when abundant rains began, especially concentrated in the Alba Langhe. Starting from July, temperatures returned to the norm for the period, accompanied by some storms; these climatic conditions favored a reduction in production in quantitative terms but did not affect the future quality and ripening of the grapes. The harvest began on September 4th and ended on the 16th of the same month.
THE WINE:
Arveja has a straw yellow color with light greenish reflections. The nose expresses floral notes that leave room for a decisive minerality. On the palate it is fresh and savory, with excellent persistence and complexity.
VINIFICATION AND REFINING:
The grapes were collected in baskets and softly pressed. The clear must was separated by cold decantation. Fermentation took place at a temperature no higher than 18 °C for about 15 days. Before bottling, the wine was aged in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures for a few months.
