The Kerner grape variety is a cross between Schiava and Riesling, created in Weinsberg (Germany) in 1929. The name Kerner comes from Justinus Kerner, a German doctor and poet (he wrote poems about wine) in whose honor this grape variety was dedicated. It prefers light, gravelly and sandy soils on the highest and sunniest slopes of the middle Isarco Valley. Despite the late ripening of the grapes, a full-bodied and tasty wine is obtained that is highly appreciated.
THE WINE:
Straw yellow color with greenish reflections. Fresh, intense, spicy, aromatic on the nose. Balanced acidity on the palate, aromatic, with a light note of nutmeg, peach and apricot
VINIFICATION:
Gentle processing and pressing, fermentation at controlled temperature and maturation on the noble lees in stainless steel tanks, no malolactic fermentation
