Collection: GASTON CHIQUET

A family story

  • 1746 : Eight generations have succeeded one another since Nicolas CHIQUET planted his first vine in 1746.
  • 1919 : The two brothers Fernand & Gaston CHIQUET - native winemakers - join forces to create their own trading house CHIQUET Frères. They were the “pioneers” of Champagne, the first winemakers to undertake this bold initiative at the time: preserving their grapes, making sparkling wine from them and marketing them.

  • In 1923 they obtained their first medal in PARIS, then the “gold medal” in EPERNAY.

  • 1935 Gaston CHIQUET separates from his brother to create his own brand.

  • 1950 Gaston and his son Claude extend the family estate to the terroirs of Ay and Hautvillers. This opens up new possibilities for blending, an essential art in the production of Champagne.

  • 2003 In turn, Antoine and Nicolas CHIQUET ensure continuity in respecting the ancestral rules: “Our essential objective is to maintain the quality requirements to which we are heirs”; the techniques have improved, the tradition remains. Our vineyard extends over 23 hectares in the heart of Champagne.
